Ambassador Patti Zhou started snowboarding at the ripe age of 2 in the mountains of Beijing, China where she quickly fell in love with the sport. Now 9 years old, Patti continues to blow us away with her unique style and infectious positive energy. She has a special way of making us feel hyped on life anytime we get the chance to talk to her and we couldn't wait to hear more about some of things that keep her stoked on and off the mountain.

What inspired you to start snowboarding?
Facing the mountain. To me, it's so alive.
At what age did you start snowboarding?
I first stood on a snowboard when I was two, with a lollipop in hand haha.
Where did you first snowboard?
China.
What gets you excited to go ride?
Being able to try new things and get a better understanding of the mountain I am riding.
Where is your favorite mountain?
Copper Mountain.

When you’re not snowboarding, what do you enjoy doing?
I like to surf, draw, and read.
What’s your favorite wave to surf?
Any wave I can get air. (we’ve seen some pretty insane clips of her at Waco wave pool)
Have you ever gotten barreled on a surfboard?
Yes!
If so, what did that feel like?
Haha, it’s like a shower.
Do you have siblings?
Yes. My little sis Yukki who’s the cutest!

Yukki.

Finding mountain creatures.

She’s only 14, but none of this is new to her. Not collecting medals. Not making grown-ass pro athletes jealous. Not the “did you see that?!” surprised faces in the crowd at global competitions like the 2019 USASA national championships in Colorado and last year’s Stab High Japan.
