UVA vs. UVB Rays

From the sun, come both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are known for penetrating the deeper layers of our skin, which can lead to premature skin aging and wrinkles. UVB rays on the other hand, are known as the culprits of sunburns and play a significant role in causing skin cancer. Curious how intense the UV rays are at any point in the day? Just look up the UV index on your phone.

We've Got Answers

Is Sport Sunscreen Better Than Regular Sunscreen?

Depends on what you’re up to. If your idea of a workout is scrolling on your phone, regular sunscreen will do just fine. But if you’re out there actually moving—running, swimming, paddling—sport sunscreen is where it’s at. It’s made to stick around longer, even when you’re dripping sweat or diving into waves. Most sport sunscreens hold up for 40 to 80 minutes of serious activity before you need to reapply. So if you play hard, sport sunscreen is the way to go.

Can You Use Sports Sunscreen Every Day?

For sure. Just because it’s made for action doesn’t mean you can’t wear it for your everyday routine. Sport sunscreen works just like regular sunscreen—except it won’t ghost you the second you start sweating. If you like a sunscreen that goes the extra mile, this is it. Just check the texture—some sport formulas are a little thicker than daily sunscreens, so find one that feels good on your skin and make it part of your morning ritual.

Does Water Resistant Sunscreen Wash Off?

Eventually, yeah. Water-resistant doesn’t mean waterproof (because no sunscreen is), but sport formulas hold up way better when you’re splashing around. After about 40 to 80 minutes of swimming, sweating, or doing whatever makes you feel alive, it starts to break down. That’s your cue to reapply. And at the end of the day? Rinse it off. Leaving sunscreen on overnight can trap dirt and oil, and nobody wants that. Quick shower, fresh skin, and you’re good to go.
