Baby Sunscreen

Baby sunscreen is one of those must-haves for any kind of outdoor adventure. Whether you’re packing up for your little one’s first beach trip or just hanging out in the backyard, keeping their skin protected from the sun is a big deal. That’s where we come in. Our Baby Bum® sunscreens are made with naturally sourced zinc and other plant-based ingredients that are gentle on sensitive skin. We’re talking fragrance free, paraben free, and made without any of the stuff you wouldn’t want near your baby. Just clean, simple protection you can feel good about. Lotions. Sprays. Sticks. We've got whatever works best for your crew. They go on smooth and rub in easy without leaving behind a chalky mess. No battles at the changing table. No ghostly white streaks. Just happy, covered babies ready to explore the sunshine. So whether you’re searching for baby sunscreen, sunscreen for infants, or an infant SPF you actually trust, we’ve got you. Every product is pediatrician and dermatologist tested and made to keep up with wiggly, giggly little beach bums. Grab a bottle, toss it in your tote, and get out there with your favorite tiny human. We’ll help you keep them safe while you soak in all the sweet, sunny moments together.

We've Got Answers

What's the age range for baby products?

We recommend using our Baby Bum products on children from the ages of 6 months - 5 years old, but always recommend consulting your pediatrician. Babies under the age of 6 months should not be in direct sunlight. Check out our Kids sunscreen line for groms over 5.

Are your baby products gluten-free?

Yes!

Are your baby products vegan?

Yup, all of our Baby Bum products are Vegan!

Why Can’t Babies Under 6 Months Use Sunscreen?

Babies under 6 months have super delicate skin that’s more sensitive than older kids or adults. Their bodies can absorb more of the ingredients in sunscreen, which might cause irritation or other issues. That’s why doctors recommend skipping sunscreen at this age and focusing on keeping your baby out of direct sunlight instead. Lightweight clothing, wide-brimmed hats, and shady spots are the way to go. Once your little one hits six months, you can start using a gentle, mineral-based sunscreen that’s made just for infants and safe for their sensitive skin.

How Do You Protect Your Baby Under 6 Months from the Sun?

For babies under 6 months, the best way to protect their skin is to keep them out of direct sunlight altogether. Their skin is super thin and sensitive, which means even a little sun can do damage. Dress your baby in lightweight, breathable clothes that cover their arms and legs, and pop on a wide-brimmed hat for extra shade. Use the stroller’s canopy or a sun umbrella when you'reout and about, and try to stick to shady spots, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when the sun’s strongest. No sunscreen needed, just good old-fashioned cover and shade.

Is There a Difference Between Sunscreen and Baby Sunscreen?

Yep, there’s definitely a difference. Baby sunscreen is specially made for extra sensitive skin, as it's made with mineral-based ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These sit on top of the skin and act as a physical shield against the sun, instead of being absorbed. Baby formulas are also typically free of fragrances, dyes, and other stuff that could irritate your little one’s skin. So while both types protect against UV rays, baby sunscreen is all about keeping things safe, simple, and soothing for tiny beach bums.
