We've Got Answers

How often should I use the Brightening Face Scrub?

We use our scrub about 2-4 times per week, or daily, depending on skin type. But if you have more sensitive skin, we recommend starting with 1-2 times a week to see how your skin reacts. Not sure what your skin type is? Read this to get a better idea.

Is the Brightening Face Scrub gentle on skin?

Yes! We use Organic Cane Sugar as the physical exfoliant versus a more abrasive exfoliant. Sugar is gentler and softens when mixed with water, which helps you control how exfoliating you want it to be given the amount of water you mix with it. We recommend doing a ‘patch’ test on one small area of skin first to make sure your skin likes it, before using it all over your face.

Can I replace the Brightening Face Scrub with a Cleanser?

We love using our Daily Cleanser every day (morning and night) since it’s gentle and doesn’t strip our skin’s moisture. But we like to incorporate our Brightening Face Scrub as the second step in our routine on days we just feel like getting a deeper cleanse. Steps in skin care routine: Cleanse, exfoliate, apply serums and eye cream, then SPF moisturizer (for daytime), or creams/oils (at night).

How do face scrubs work? And why would I want one?

Face scrubs help exfoliate and soften our skin by helping to remove dead skin cells, dirt, oil, and product buildup. Just think of them as a little reset for our skin.

When should I NOT use a face scrub?

We do not recommend exfoliating your face when it’s sunburnt, irritated, or if you have any open sores, cuts, or severe acne breakouts.

Does this product have fragrance?

Yes, it’s infused with a Mango Citrus scent—made without synthetic fragrance.

What makes this product “brightening” and will it really make my skin look brighter?

The papaya & pineapple enzymes work as chemical exfoliants while the Organic Cane Sugar acts as a physical exfoliant. The two exfoliants work together to help reveal a brighter, smoother appearance while helping support the performance of other skin care products like serums and moisturizers.

Can I use your Brightening Face Scrub as a lip scrub?

While it’s totally fine to get a little bit of our Face Scrub on your lips while washing your face, we don’t recommend using it as a lip scrub. Ps. We know it’s tempting, but don’t eat it.
