We’re super pumped to welcome the young Hawaiian phenom Barron Mamiya to the Sun Bum family.
Hailing from the North Shore, Barron is already one of the best barrel riders in the world, making a name for himself as a constant standout at both Pipe and Backdoor while holding his own at Off-the-Wall and Teahupo’o. Barron’s deep family ties to surfing, his emotional maturity, and his insane skill level have set him up for what seems like limitless potential in the sport. We have been blown away by what he has already accomplished and are so stoked to see what he will do in the future. We are proud to have Barron using and testing all of our products in the harshest surf conditions possible. Welcome to the family Barron! SB.
Really excited to join the Sun Bum team! I trust this product and use it anyway, so even better to be able to spread the word and remind my friends to use sunscreen when we surf. Looking forward to testing all their new sunscreen during my marathon surf sessions! – Barron

She’s only 14, but none of this is new to her. Not collecting medals. Not making grown-ass pro athletes jealous. Not the “did you see that?!” surprised faces in the crowd at global competitions like the 2019 USASA national championships in Colorado and last year’s Stab High Japan.
It started with lost bags and apparently the worst conditions in years, but we find Side Hits galore, some fun country hits, and find our rhythm with Parker Szumowski and Arthur Longo leading the charge. Dark, snow-ridden storm clouds are gathering over the steppes of Uzbekistan, and we are very much ready and waiting for it.
Navigating tropical surf trips in 2025 isn’t the easiest of affairs. It turns out that surfers really are everywhere. The search for tropical isolation is eternal.
Take a trip through the sunshine mind-state of legendary surf artist, Andy Davis.
