How to Use

Hair Lightener:Our hair lightener is heat activated. Spray throughout hair just before some extra sun time or bust out a hair dryer to boost the process and really get those highlighting effects.

Tone Enhancer:Shampoo and condition hair, towel dry, spray directly into hair or apply one or two spritzes into your palm, rub together, run fingers through hair and comb. Do not rinse.

Hello I really want to use this product but I’m nervous that it will turn my hair orange wont look natural or will be spoty. Do you have any application tips to minimize the chance of this happening?

Depending on how dark your hair was to begin with, it could create the orange-ish tint you are inquiring about. Just as if you were getting a salon service, you'll need to tone your hair to enhance the lightening process. This is why we recommend that you use our Hair Lightener with our Tone Enhancer or a purple shampoo of some sort, in order to neutralize that brassiness. Hey Wyatt, Thanks so much for reaching out and trusting the bum! What makes the Hair Lightener work is a lightening blend of ingredients which includes hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide oxidizes the melanin in the hair which causes it to lighten, and heat is what speeds up the results. Although sun is ideal, you can totally use a blow dryer with the Hair Lightener! Since this product is heat-activated, either blow drying your hair or spending time out in the sun after applying the product will speed up the lightning results. I have light brown curly hair, and after shampooing and conditioning my hair in the shower, I style my hair with a leave-in conditioner and a gel. I am curious to know if this product will work well when my hair is slightly saturated with products, and if does, where does it fit into my routine?

After you shampoo, condition, and towel-dry your hair, you can just spray the product on whichever sections of hair you want to lighten. Since the Hair Lightener is heat-activated, blow drying your hair or spending time out in the sun after applying the product will speed up the lightening results. You can incorporate a leave-in product as well if you'd like, since the Hair Lightener is not intended as a leave-in conditioner replacement. And just be sure to keep in mind: The Hair Lightener is intended to be used slowly and gradually. We advise against using the product more than 2 or max 3 times a week, as it could cause hair breakage and damage hair if overused. Hope this helps!
